Installation

Five minutes. One tool.

Our plates fit over your existing switch box the same way a standard cover plate does — no wiring, no electrician, no special skills. If you can swap a light bulb, you can do this.

What you need

A flat head tool

A flat head (slotted) screwdriver or any small flat tool. That’s the only tool required — our screws are slotted, so a Phillips head won’t seat properly.

Nothing else

Screws are included with every plate, matched to the finish. No anchors, no adhesive, no hardware run.

How to install

Before you start. You aren’t touching any wiring, but we still recommend switching the power off at the breaker before removing your old plate — it takes a moment and removes any doubt. Never touch exposed wiring. If anything behind your old plate looks damaged, loose, or scorched, stop and call an electrician.

Remove your existing plate

Loosen the screws on your current cover plate and lift it away. Your new plate goes on in its place — it doesn’t mount over the old one. Keep your old plate somewhere safe if you’re in a rental.
Set your new plate in position

Line the openings up over the switch or outlet and hold the plate flush against the wall. It should sit flat without forcing — if it doesn’t, check the switch itself is seated straight before you tighten anything.
Fit the included screws

Use the screws that came with your plate rather than your old ones — ours are matched to the plate’s finish and depth. Start them by hand so you don’t cross-thread.
Tighten gently, and stop

Snug is enough. These are precision 3D-printed pieces, and over-tightening is the one thing that can crack a plate. Turn until it holds firm, then stop.
Power back on

Flip the breaker back and you’re done.

Good to know

Use our screws, not your old ones. They’re included for a reason — finish-matched and sized to the plate.
Don’t over-tighten. The most common installation mistake, and the easiest to avoid.
Flat head only. Our screws are slotted — reaching for a Phillips is the second most common mistake.
Renting? Nothing here is permanent. Keep your original plate and swap it back when you move.
